After human civilization collapsed and disappeared from Earth, the cities we once built remained.
Skyscrapers became ruins.
Roads were slowly worn down by rain.
Concrete began to crack.
Roots pushed through the floors of the old city.
Soil gradually covered what human hands had made, until almost nothing was left to remember.
So much time passed that no one remained to tell what that place used to be.
A new tree grew on the same old Earth.
Beneath its roots were the remains of humankind.
Homes. Roads. Voices. Tools. Beliefs. Mistakes.
Everything became a layer of soil that allowed new life to keep growing.

Pale Blue Dot is the scent of a handful of earth carried away by a survivor leaving the planet.
It holds the trace of what we once were.
Inside that soil, there is still the smell of rain.
There are fragments of the city.
There are mistakes.
There is the memory of humans who once believed the world belonged to them.
